N.Y. nonprofit taps e-MDs as EHR partner

Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY), a nonprofit organization committed to representing the medical profession and advocating health related rights, has chosen EHR provider e-MDs as an EHR vendor partner.

MSSNY will work with e-MDs to encourage and facilitate the adoption of EHR technology by the state's healthcare providers.  As a selected vendor, e-MDs will help providers manage implementation, the Austin, Texas-based e-MDs stated.

The nonprofit's selection criteria included affordability, e-prescribing capability, ONC-ATCB meaningful use certification, ability to interface with a state health information exchange system, system functionality and benefit to providers, according to MSSNY, an organization of approximately 25,000 licensed physicians, medical residents and medical students throughout the state.
