RA licensing bill passed by Texas Senate, heads to House
A bill that sets regulatory standards and professional licensing for radiology assistants (RAs) has been passed by the Texas Senate and will now head to the House of Representatives.
Senate Bill 848, introduced by Sen. Craig Estes, recognizes RAs as radiology physician extenders. The bill is currently awaiting a hearing in the House, which will be in session before adjourning on June 1.
If the bill is approved by the House, Texas will join 30 other states to license advanced-practice medical imaging professionals.
