Radiology Leadership Institute Awards First Certificate of Leadership Achievement

The Radiology Leadership Institute™ (RLI), a program of the American College of Radiology, awarded its first Certificate of Leadership Fundamentals™ to Alexandru Bageac, M.D., MBA. Bageac earned this certificate by successfully completing Level I of the RLI program, which focuses on the fundamental tenets of leadership.

“As a graduate of the Babson MBA program in entrepreneurship, I’ve long been an advocate for a workplace culture that embraces change, anticipates trends and directional shifts, and creates expanded opportunities for collaboration and innovation. The RLI program has proven to be a key factor in introducing the important concepts of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship to my radiology practice and health care partners. Moreover, the program is helping me develop ever more complex and sophisticated leadership skills to better serve my patients, referring physicians and health care institutions,” said Alexandru Bageac, M.D., MBA.

The RLI offers a unique educational structure where participants “graduate” through progressive levels of leadership training by earning RLI Credits in important topic areas. Levels I-IV are instructional in nature and can be completed by satisfying the credit requirements for each level. Participants earn RLI certificates of achievement for completing each level.

Sherry, M.D., FACR, medical director of the Radiology Leadership Institute and chair of the American College of Radiology Commission on Leadership and Practice Development.

Bageac has been in private practice since 2006 when he joined Radiology Specialists of the Northwest as medical director for nuclear medicine. While a practicing radiologist, he earned an MBA in entrepreneurship from the Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. Bageac is focusing his clinical practice on oncology imaging and nuclear medicine, and for the past two years has been the president of his group of 22 radiologists.
