Relizon supplies secure prescription pad for Vermont's Rutland Medical Center

The Relizon Company of Dayton, Ohio is working with the Rutland Regional Medical Center in Vermont to cut the illegal use of drugs in its community.

Central to this effort is Rutland's recently launched Narcotic Abuse Prevention Project (NAPP) that Relizon is supplying with a secure prescription pad that makes prescriptions difficult to forge and easier to track.

Under NAPP, participating doctors and medical facilities are using Relizon's secure NAPP Rx pads when prescribing drugs that are determined to be an abuse risk. These drugs include all schedule 2 drugs, such as Oxycontin, that already require special treatment under federal law.

The Relizon Rx pads include protections such as a void feature that displays the word "VOID" when the prescription is photocopied, serial numbers that allow each prescription to be traced, micro printing and a watermark to deter counterfeiting and a color, easily identifiable logo to signal to pharmacies that special care is required.
