Sectra gains Norwegian RIS installation

IT and medical technology company Sectra has been selected by Rikshospitalet in Norway to install its radiology information system (RIS).

Rikshospitalet already uses Sectra's PACS and installation of the new RIS will start at the beginning of 2005.

Rikshospitalet's radiology department performs approximately 80,000 radiology examinations yearly and each examination includes between 10 and 1,000 images. By integrating referrals, patient data and images, workflow will improve and the referring doctor will more quickly receive referral responses and images, Sectra said.
