Siemens reveals new technology partner

Siemens Medical Solutions has been awarded a contract by Century City Doctors Hospital (CCDH) in Century City, Calif., to be its primary technology service provider. The goal is to develop a complete digital hospital, which will open late this fall.

Siemens said it will provide CCDH with everything from medical equipment and building technologies to information technology (IT) outsourcing, financing and professional services. These products and services include advanced medical imaging and diagnostic equipment: comprehensive IT systems; fully integrated voice, data, video and nurse call systems; and building control technologies, according to Siemens.

Siemens also will deploy a comprehensive security system, including smart card technology for identification badges, facility access and data security.

Several Siemens U.S. operating companies will provide products and services to the new hospital.
