Abbott Northwestern Hospital takes delivery on Siemens' Acuson systems

Abbott Northwestern Hospital and the Minneapolis Heart Institute have purchased and installed 23 new Acuson Sequoia echocardiography systems and two Acuson Cypress cardiovascular systems from Siemens Medical Solutions.

The ultrasound systems are destined for the hospital's cardiology department, its eight remote clinics and the hospital's mobile units.

Abbott Northwestern Hospital also purchased the Acuson KinetDx network with 25 workstations, linking the cardiology department and the remote clinics with its connection to the hospital information system (HIS) and its integrated cardiology information system (CIS).

With the 23 new Sequoia systems, Abbott Northwestern Hospital now has a total of 27 Sequoia echocardiography platforms installed throughout the healthcare system.
