Agfa to offer Initiate's MPI as part of IMPAX

Agfa Healthcare and Initiate Systems Inc., provider of enterprise master person index (EMPI) software and services, this week inked a reseller agreement allowing Agfa to offer Initiate's MPI software as an integrated component of its IMPAX Enterprise Image Management system.

Under the agreement, Agfa said it will offer Initiate Identity Hub software as a component of IMPAX to manage the multiple identification domains of diagnostic imaging patients. An upgrade option also will be made available to extend the EMPI beyond diagnostic imaging to the rest of the enterprise.

The multi-year arrangement will provide the joint system to healthcare providers initially in the North American market.

The integration enables unified cross-facility management of patients' imaging studies across integrated delivery networks (IDNs), said Agfa. In addition, Agfa noted that the agreement gives Agfa customers the flexibility to begin enterprise-level patient identification at the business level of PACS based on their technology roadmap.
