FIMI Philips, Matrox enhance PACS viewing capabilities

FIMI Philips and Matrox Graphics Inc. have collaborated to introduce FIMI's SmartPivot display technology in its PACS range of LCD monitors for the medical imaging market. FIMI Philips is already bundling the Matrox MED Series 10-bit display controller boards with its new displays.

The companies said the new technology will be demonstrated at next week's Radiological Society of North America meeting, Nov. 28 - Dec. 2, in Chicago.

"SmartPivot enables easy display orientation, and features "smart" technology, which allows our new FIMI panel to communicate with the Matrox board to determine and set orientation automatically," says Franco Martegani, general manager, FIMI Philips.

"Matrox is pleased to have collaborated with FIMI Philips on this project, further enhancing the viewing abilities for medical imaging professionals using Matrox MED Series boards," said George Rigas, medical product manger, Matrox. "The new SmartPivot functionality provides medical imaging professionals with added ease-of-use and features to aid in their everyday tasks."
