Viztek introduces DR billing application

Viztek introduced Opal-Billing, a web-based digital radiology billing application that integrates fully with its Opal-Rad PACS and Opal-RIS for seamless digital radiology management from scheduling through claims tracking at the 93rd scientific assembly and annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago last month.

Sharing a single database with both Viztek applications, it eliminates duplicate data input and makes complete billing functionality and data available over the Internet to multiple offices or wherever needed. Opal-Billing integrates with Opal-RIS to import studies automatically into its billing charge module. Following this, users read radiology reports with Opal-Rad PACS, add ICD-9 codes and verify them for accuracy. Claims information can be viewed and modified, and co-payments are applied to the encounter. Opal-Billing electronic claims may be submitted to the clearinghouse of the user’s choice in HIPAA-compliant 837 format.  A sophisticated claims-tracking module helps insurance clerks monitor and manage claims in detail. The module supports automatic importing of up-to-date industry-standard 835 and 837 payment records. The Opal-Billing application also provides patient statements, tracks patient inquiries and generates a wide range of billing reports.
