Bridgehead Software releases new version of PACStore

Bridgehead Software released its latest version of PACStore at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 30 through Dec. 4.

The long-term archiving solution consolidates data from disparate PACS, enabling it to be centrally managed and accessed while providing powerful federated search facilities.  The system incorporates a DICOM storage class server and HL7 interface to enable full integration into existing healthcare IT infrastructures.

PACStore creates a central repository for imaging data with a single point of access. Data in the repository is automatically repositioned between different IT storage tiers during its lifetime to minimize storage costs. Because multiple copies of the data can be maintained in multiple geographic locations, the system improves business continuity and allows web-based access to DICOM images even when primary PACS systems are unavailable, the company said.
