Euromed, Philips partner for digital dictation, speech recognition

Euromed Networks has signed a partnership with Philips Speech Recognition Systems, for the integration and distribution of the Philips’ SpeechMagic platform in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with Euromed’s digital dictation and image management software, MedSpeech.

MedSpeech now features Philips industrial grade speech recognition for accurate, convenient and efficient information capturing, according to the Stockholm, Sweden-based Euromed.

MedSpeech, powered by SpeechMagic, has been designed to seamlessly integrate with healthcare IT applications, such HIS, RIS or PACS.

The first installation of the system is currently taking place at HCA International, the largest private healthcare provider in central London. HCA is rolling out Euromed Networks’ MedSpeech powered by Speech Magic to radiologists across 11 sites that will use the digital dictation and speech recognition to generate reports for approximately 180,000 examinations per year, according to Philips.
