Martin joins SonoSite board

SonoSite, a compact ultrasound technology developer, has appointed Richard O. Martin, PhD, to its board of directors.

Martin served as president of Medtronic Physio Control from 1998 until his retirement in 2001, SonoSite said. Prior to its acquisition by Medtronic in 1998, Martin was CEO and chairman of Physio Control. He was also chairman of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association from 1996 to 1998, and served as the AeA's National Chairman from 2000 to 2001.

“Martin brings in-depth knowledge and years of corporate leadership in the medical imaging, diagnostics and therapeutics fields," said Kevin M. Goodwin, SonoSite CEO and president.
