McKesson wins HIS install for three-hospital initiative

Nueterra Healthcare has chosen to implement the Paragon community health information system (HIS) from McKesson in three community hospitals currently being built.

Additionally, the hospitals will implement Horizon Medical Imaging PACS to provide electronic access to medical images and reports.

The Paragon system offers an electronic charting system as well as point-of-care applications such as barcode medication scanning and automatic documentation of medication administration, according to McKesson.

The three hospitals in Great Bend, Kan.; McKinney, Texas; and Fremont, Calif., are the first community hospitals to be developed and managed by the Leawood, Kan.-based Nueterra.
