Medis relocates North American headquarters to Research Triangle Park

Medis Medical Imaging Systems is relocating its North American headquarters from northern Virginia to Raleigh, N.C.

The company said it will hire three new employees, relocate three from Virginia and has further plans for expansion.

“The Research Triangle Park area is an excellent place for us to find the professional talent we need to prosper…As a leading provider of software for the quantification of cardiovascular images and images of the brain, we anticipate continued growth in years to come,” said Jake Siar, Medis director of operations and sales, North America.

Medis creates software solutions for various medical specialties, including cardiology, radiology and neurology, and its software covers a range of modalities: MRI, multidetector CT, x-ray angiography and intravascular ultrasound.

Medis is a privately owned company, which was founded in 1989 as a spin-off of the Leiden University Medical Center’s Laboratory for Clinical and Experimental Image Processing in the Netherlands.
