Viztek scores PACS, RIS contract in Texas

The Texas Facilities Commission will implement Viztek's Opal-RAD PACS and RIS solution at the Texas Center for Infectious Disease (TCID) in San Antonio.

CIMS, an international systems integration company, facilitated the contract, Viztek said.

TCID is converting the radiology department that serves three state institutions on the campus from an analog environment to a more efficient digital workplace with Opal-RAD PACS and RIS, according to the Jacksonville, Fla.-based company. The web-based PACS offers enterprise-level features including direct dictation to exam files, report management and availability on any web-enabled PC, as well as a range of customizable tools, the firm said.
