AHRA: Canon previews wireless DR
Canon U.S.A. will preview its CXDI-80C Wireless Digital Radiography (DR) system, along with its CXDI-501 DR systems, at the 2011 American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) Exposition, Aug. 14-17, in Dallas.
The CXDI-80C Wireless DR system builds on Canon’s CXDI-70C Wireless DR system, and reduces its size and weight. It features an imaging area of 11 x 14-inch size, which is equivalent to a conventional 10 x 12-inch imaging cassette. The CXDI-80C Wireless DR system weighs 5.5 pounds and incorporates a 6.1-megapixel image sensor with a pixel pitch of 125 microns and a Cesium Iodide (CsI) scintillator. The CXDI-80C Wireless DR system also produces up to 140 images on a fully charged battery, the Lake Success, N.Y. company stated.
The Canon CXDI-501 DR systems incorporate a detachable cable and compatible cassette. The CXDI-501C and CXDI-501G DR systems feature a 14 x 17-inch imaging area and each weighs less than seven pounds. The systems also employ a 9.5-MP image sensor with a pixel pitch of 125 microns and offer a Cesium Iodide (CsI) or Gadolinium Oxysulfide scintillator, respectively. The CXDI-501 DR systems allow medical practitioners to preview an image in three seconds after exposure, Canon said. Finally, CXDI Control Software NE reduces the number of operational steps, while supporting multiple patient studies, according to the company.
