Alliance Medical purchases Tomovation, appoints Friebe

Alliance Medical, a provider of outsourced diagnostic imaging services in Europe, has acquired Tomovation, based in Castrop-Rauxel, Germany, which develops CT, MRI and PET services and products.

The acquisition is part of the long-term strategic plan to consolidate and extend its existing presence in the German market. The combined group will seek further opportunities to improve the services to its customers: hospitals, private practices and original equipment manufacturers, according to the Warwick, U.K.-based Alliance.

Michael Friebe, PhD, CEO of Tomovation, will be appointed as managing director of Alliance. Friebe has extensive experience in the healthcare sector and has managed several medical solution providers, according to Alliance's CEO Alan Pilgrim.
