Amicas licenses Acacia PACS technology

Acacia Research's subsidiary, Hospital Systems, has agreed to license its PACS technology patents to Amicas.

The agreement resolves the parties' dispute that was pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas concerning one of Amicas' subsidiaries, Emageon, according to the Newport Beach, Calif.-based Acacia.

Acacia said its subsidiaries develop, acquire and license patented technologies. It said it controls more than 100 patent portfolios, including U.S. patents and certain foreign counterparts.
