Barco's 5MP mammo display gets FDA nod
The FDA has stamped Barco's Coronis 5 mega-pixel (MP) Mammo display system with 510k approval for reading and interpreting digital mammograms. The clearance comes on the heels of the FDA's approval for Barco's CRT-based MGD 521M mammography display in June.
Barco's per pixel uniformity (PPU) technology, which measures and adjusts the luminance output of every individual pixel, has been integrated in the new Coronis 5MP Mammo. The display also features Barco's proprietary defect pixel compensation (DPC), which detects and identifies defect pixels in each individual display.
The viewing system comes with a high-speed BarcoMed 5MP2FH display controller, which enables fast image loading and smooth roaming, said Barco. The system unites the features of the Coronis family, including Barco's I-Guard sensor technology.
