Calypso to collaborate with Philips and IMPAC
Philips expects to provide enhancements to its treatment planning systems with target localization data from the Calypso 4D Localization System. According to Keith Tipton, general manager, Phillips Radiation Oncology Systems, "Calypso's unique technology, in conjunction with the Pinnacle³ and AcQSim treatment planning and simulation systems from Philips, has the potential to deliver on the promise of adaptive and image-guided radiation therapy."
IMPAC intends to integrate target localization data generated from the Calypso 4D Localization System into its electronic medical record (EMR) which currently streamlines treatment setup, verification, and recording of linear accelerators. "By introducing the technology to IMPAC's large installed base along with new accelerator installations, the potential exists to accelerate the adoption of adaptive therapy," said IMPAC President and CEO Joseph Jachinowski.
