Cardinal Health rolls out radioactive check device
Cardinal Health Inc. of Dublin, Ohio, has released the Sr-90 radioactive check device for radiation oncology healthcare professionals.
The Sr-90 device, model 30-657, contains a 33.3 MBq Sr-90 source and is equipped with an attached thermometer. The company says it is intended to be used with cylindrical or thimble type ionization chambers.
A second version, model 30-658, containing 20 MBq Sr-90, is also available and intended for use with parallel-plane type ionization chambers.
A radioactive material license is required for both check devices and must be submitted prior to purchase.
