Carestream starts shipping mobile DR

Carestream Health in Rochester, N.Y., has started shipping its DRX-Revolution mobile x-ray system.

The DRX-Revolution includes a software tool that creates companion images from the original exposure: one image shows tubes and lines so physicians can verify placement, and another accentuates the appearance of free air in the chest cavity for visualization of the pneumothorax, according to the company.

The DRX-Revolution also includes an extendable tube head and two monitors (the main 19-inch monitor and an eight-inch tube head monitor), which allows a technologist to capture and review images without moving away from a patient’s bed.
