Civco introduces Assist Positioning for interventional work
Civco Medical Instruments is showcasing its new Assist Positioning Arm system designed for the interventional imaging environment at the annual meeting of the Society of Interventional Radiologists (SIR) starting today in New Orleans (March 31 - April 5).
The technology enables physicians to place and hold instruments while facilitating controlled, accurate treatment when performing ablations, biopsies or other minimally invasive procedures in the CT and ultrasound environment, Civco said.
The Civco Assist Positioning Arm System features three stabilizing options, a set of curvilinear positioning arms, several arm attachments and accessories. The design of the positioning arms offers flexibility of movement in every direction, enabling physicians to freely place and hold instruments, such as an ultrasound transducer, in a constant position to observe a biopsy or ablation procedure in real-time.
In addition, the arms accept accessory attachments which hold the instruments for accurate alignment, including a CT multi-angle instrument guide with the fine adjustment mechanism, multi-purpose holder and ultrasound transducer holder. All attachments are engineered to Quick-Mount to the positioning arms and provide an accurate means for diagnosis and treatment of small lesions during biopsy and ablation procedures. Shipments are set to start in July.
