Cordis, Volcano begin European IVUS distribution agreement

Cordis Europe has begun a collaboration with Volcano Europe, a manufacturer of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) systems and imaging catheters, to distribute Volcano’s IVUS technology to European hospitals.

Staffan Ternstrom, president of Cordis Europe, Middle East and Africa, said that “Cordis is determined to make IVUS technology more widely available to European physicians and their patients with coronary artery disease.”

Cordis, a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, said that its IVUS is a catheter-based imaging system that allows physicians to acquire images of diseased vessels from inside the artery and facilitates stent placement.
