DICOM Solutions licenses DatCard DICOM image publishing patent

DatCard Systems has granted DICOM Solutions a license for systems that distribute and record DICOM medical image data onto CDs or DVDs that can be read without specialized viewing software, for which it holds a U.S. patent.

Under the license, the Irvine, Calif.-based DatCard said it will provide PacsCube products to the Laguna Hills, Calif.-based DICOM Solutions, and soon will be providing DICOM Solutions with products that use DatCard’s patented technology.

The license agreement is part of a broader strategic alliance between DatCard and DICOM Solutions under which the two companies will be providing each other with strategic, marketing, and technical assistance, according to DatCard.
