Eclipsys delivers clinical IT systems to Texas-based healthcare provider

The Methodist Hospital System in Houston, Texas, has transformed patient care with the implementation of Eclipsys Corp.'s line of clinical information technology (IT) systems.

The Houston-based healthcare system includes The Methodist Hospital, which is in the process of rolling out Eclipsys' Sunrise Clinical Manager XA with Medication Management, Sunrise Ambulatory Care Manager, Sunrise ED Manager, Sunrise Discovery and Knowledge-Based Charting (KBC), a unique clinical documentation system for nurses.

The Methodist Hospital System is affiliated with the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. The 1,514-bed hospital system is comprised of The Methodist Hospital, Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, and San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. It also is affiliated with The Menninger Clinic, a national specialty psychiatric and behavioral hospital, and 24 international hospitals.
