ECRI rolls out new Health Technology Forecast product

ECRI has launched a new online resource called Health Technology Forecast to assist healthcare executives in strategic technology planning.

ECRI's Forecast identifies healthcare technologies -- including drugs, devices, procedures, information systems, and services - that will emerge from the research pipeline into the marketplace.

ECRI staff will provide what the technology assessment and research firm describes as "straightforward, unbiased, continually updated perspectives and predictions to help hospital and health plan executives understand the changes that may come when new technologies hit the market."

ECRI adds that Health Technology Forecast will include "perspectives and predictions on the future of hundreds of emerging medical technologies in dozens of rapidly changing clinical areas, including diabetes, cardiovascular services, neurosciences, and more."
