eHealth Global, HKS team to connect transplant patient records
eHealth Global Technologies and HKS Medical Information Systems, a developer of the Organ Transplant Tracking Record (OTTR) EHR and workflow management system, have entered into an agreement to offer an integrated solution that streamlines medical record management for transplant departments.
This agreement brings together the OTTR, a patient tracking application and EHR developed specifically to meet the needs of organ transplant centers, and eHealthConnect, a medical record management service that collects, digitizes, organizes, secures and stores outside patient records, according to the Rochester, N.Y.-based eHealth Global and the Omaha, Neb.-based HKS.
The company said that eHealthConnect service will be accessible from one user interface within the OTTR system, from which eHealth Global will then retrieve, digitize and upload the record directly into the transplant center’s OTTR system.
By encapsulating a PDF in an HL7 message, users can append existing patient records with outside data for a more complete electronic medical record, the companies said. Images can also be collected, digitized and made available for viewing securely via eHealth Global’s eHealthViewer from within the OTTR application.
