Elekta GammaKnife nets Japanese clearance
The Japanese Ministry for Health, Labor and Welfare has approved Elekta’s Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion, a clinical solution for non-invasive radiosurgical treatments of tumors, vascular malformations and other brain disorders.
The Stockholm, Sweden-based Elekta said it will now be able to deliver and install the technology at new and existing customer sites in Japan.
The Leksell Gamma Knife is designed to optimize treatment to the head and neck area, the company said.
