Emageon sees rise in income

Emageon Inc. has seen third quarter revenue of $19.6 million compared with $10.3 million in the third quarter of 2004, a 90 percent increase. Gross margin percentage for the quarter was 46 percent, compared to 18 percent for the previous year. Emageon's net income was $1.8 million, or $0.09 per share, a big improvement of over the net loss of $4.5 million from the previous period. 

The company saw revenue for the first nine months 2005 rise to $49.5 million, an increase of 68 percent over the same period in 2004 of $29.6 million. Gross margin percentage for the first nine months of 2005 was 44 percent, which again compares positively to the 30 percent in 2004. The company's net loss was $1.1 million, or $(0.06) per share, for the first nine months which again is an improvement over the net loss of $8.3 million for the period in 2004.
