FDA clears Carestream's mobile DR system

Carestream Health has received FDA clearance for its Carestream DRX-Revolution mobile x-ray system, and is now accepting orders from U.S. healthcare facilities.

The system includes a 32kW generator, DRX detector and software that enables the radiographer to align the tube with a grid, according to Rochester, N.Y.-based Carestream. The mobile DR system features a collapsible column. Other components include a dual-drive system and long tube head reach.

DRX-Revolution incorporates a primary 19-inch monitor and 8-inch tube head monitor to provide two work zones. It offers single sign-in and the same software and graphic user interface as other CARESTREAM DRX systems.

DRX-based technology can be used in multiple x-ray systems at a facility, Carestream said.
