FDA clears Imris 3T MRI

The FDA has cleared Imris’ 3T IMRISneuro for sale in the United States, and the system is now available with either a 1.5T or a 3T magnet.

Both systems provide Imris’ patented technology and utilize 70-cm wide-bore advanced MRI systems from Siemens Healthcare. The 3T IMRISneuro provides advanced imaging techniques for surgical planning, such as diffusion tensor imaging, functional MRI and spectroscopy, as well as vascular imaging in a platform designed for use in an operating room.

The Winnipeg, Canada-based company said its 3T IMRISneuro also has been approved in Canada, with the first system delivered to Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, in November.
