FDA clears Siemens fluoroscopy, radiography systems

Siemens Healthcare Luminos Agile Fluoroscopy/Radiography system has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA and is now commercially available in the U.S.

The Luminos Agile is a patient-side controlled system with flat-panel detector technology, a height-adjustable table and dual-use capability for fluoroscopy and radiography.

The system’s flat-panel detector enables users to view objects without repositioning or changing the field of view, reducing overall fluoroscopy time and dose, while the horizontal and vertical transfer positions accommodate a wide range of patients, including children and those with mobility challenges. In addition, the motorized tower and synchronized table allow for improved radiography workflow and increased patient throughput, according to Malvern, Pa.-based Siemens.
