Fujifilm's portable x-ray system tackles two college ball games

The FCR Go portable digital x-ray system from Stamford, Conn.-based Fujifilm Medical Systems has been selected as the official portable digital x-ray system of the Bowl Championship Series 2010 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl as well as the 2009 Insight Bowl college football games.

According to the company, FCR Go will be on site to image injured players of the participating teams, providing the means for the near-immediate diagnosis of athletes during these competitive bowl games.

Fujifilm said the FCR Go system incorporates its standard cassettes in multiple sizes and interfaces with its Synapse PACS, which features exam-specific presets for image optimization.

The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl will take place on Jan. 4, 2010 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., featuring the undefeated teams of Boise State and Texas Christian University. The 2010 Insight Bowl will be held Dec. 31, 2009 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz., where the University of Minnesota will take on Iowa State.
