GE adds e-prescribing to Centricity EMR
GE Healthcare IT and Kryptiq, a provider of healthcare IT solutions, have entered a joint agreement for GE to exclusively distribute Kryptiq’s eScriptMessenger (eSM) in conjunction with GE's Centricity EMR and Centricity Practice Solution.
The offering aims to provide a proven e-prescribing solution benefiting physicians with speed and ease in managing prescription activities—addressing a need to improve patient safety and care quality, according to GE.
“As the Kryptiq e-prescribing solution is already readily accepted by several thousand of our Centricity EMR customers, we are excited to build on this existing alliance to meet the evolving needs of our customers with one point of purchase,” said James M. Corrigan, vice president and general manager, GE Healthcare IT. “Our guiding principle is to provide the best user experience and building on this relationship will allow even more customers to connect e-prescribing seamlessly into current workflows.”
Under the joint agreement, GE will also work with Kryptiq to expand current connection capabilities and continue to address upcoming EMR certification and e-prescribing regulatory requirements.
Kryptiq’s eSM for GE's Centricity EMR and Centricity Practice Solution will be sold exclusively through GE, the company said.
Currently, GE Healthcare IT distributes Kryptiq’s Patient Portal, Secure Messaging and Document Management products as part of the Centricity portfolio.
