HIMSS and the Society for Health Systems to offer dual memberships

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Society for Health Systems (SHS) will offer dual membership to individuals interested in joining both organizations.

The agreement, effective May 1, offers expanded benefits with specific enhancements in the areas of membership, education and publications. SHS membership still will include membership in the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).

SHS President Steve Escamilla said the organizations "are hoping to leverage these strengths to provide options for all management engineers, especially to benefit those who are members of both organizations."

The SHS Board also plans to hold its annual conference on the Saturday and Sunday, instead of the Friday and Saturday before the Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition.

More information on the pact will be developed in the upcoming months.
