Japan Material to supply Matrox Equinox, Onyx products in Japan

With the partnership between Matrox and Japan Material of Tokyo, Japanese healthcare facilities now have the option to install high-resolution monitors without adding additional cable clutter, noise and heat related usually generated by placing a PC in the same room, according to the Montreal-based Matrox.

Each Equinox graphics extension unit drives two independent monitors (up to 4MP each), using fiber-optic cable to place the PC up to 250 meters away from the hygienic operating room (OR) space, the company said. OR monitors can be controlled from within the OR using a variety of tools connected via USB 2.0 or from the remote PC locating using additional monitors powered by the optional Matrox Onyx display controller board, Matrox said. By replicating display information in a control room or educational theatre, improved monitoring of surgical procedures is also possible.
