Kodak highlights CR system for oncology imaging, inks agreement with Acceletronics
Eastman Kodak Co.'s Health Imaging Group unveiled enhancements to the Kodak 2000RT CR (computed radiography) Plus System for oncology imaging at the 46th annual meeting of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) this week in Atlanta. The CR system provides digital capture of portal localization, verification, and simulation images used in the treatment of cancer patients.
According to Kodak, upgrades include new features to simplify operator interface commands and improve productivity by eliminating the need for an operator to examine each image prior to sending it to a physician for review. The system's new capabilities also include posting notification to the operator interface to confirm that images have been transmitted to patient management systems or other destinations, Kodak said.
Kodak also revealed at ASTRO 2004 an agreement with Acceletronics Inc. of Exton, Pa. Under terms of the agreement, Acceletronics will begin marketing in the United States Kodak's 2000RT CR Plus System. Kodak said it will provide installation, service and support for the computed radiography systems.
