Konica and Minolta close on merger

Konica Medical Imaging and Minolta Corp. on Wednesday completed their merger to become Konica Minolta Medical Imaging USA Inc.

Konica's product line includes the Regius computed radiography systems, DryPro laser imagers and image networks, NetStar image management solutions, as well as medical, laser and specialty films and film processing equipment.

In addition to the new name and logo, Konica said that it expects new products and expanded support programs will be introduced over time.

"Our merger with Minolta will capitalize on the broader assets we now have in research-and-development, as well as in many of our manufacturing, marketing and service capabilities," said Terry Hasegawa, president of Konica Minolta Medical Imaging.

Wayne, N.J., will continue as Konica Minolta Medical Imaging USA's headquarters.
