McKesson's growth continues in FY04's second quarter

McKesson Corp. reported healthy gains in revenues and earnings in its second fiscal quarter, ending Sept. 30.

 Revenues increased 23 percent to $16.8 billion, compared with $13.7 billion in the second quarter of FY03. Net income rose 25 percent to $156.5 million, compared with $124.8 million in the year-ago quarter.

 Sales in McKesson's pharmaceutical unit increased 15 percent, while its information unit contributed an 8 percent gain in revenues. McKesson expects revenue growth in its information unit to grow approximately 10 percent for the rest of FY04.
