Medtronic nets CE Mark for pacemaker designed for use in MRIs

Medtronic has received the European CE Mark for its EnRhythm MRI SureScan pacemaker and CapSureFix MRI SureScan pacing leads designed for use in MRI systems under specified conditions.

In a multi-center, multi-country trial presented at this year’s European Society of Cardiology (ESC) meeting in Munich, Germany, researchers found no MRI-related complications and no arrhythmia or asystole during imaging.

The Minneapolis-based company said that its system is now commercially available in select European countries.
