Merry X-Ray buys SourceOne

Medical imaging and service provider Merry X-Ray Corp. has acquired SourceOne Healthcare Technologies from Platinum Equity, the companies announced today. The financial terms of the agreement have not as been announced.

This acquisition should help Merry X-Ray expand their reach as a provider of radiology imaging technology to hospitals and healthcare centers across North America, the company said.

"The combined talents of Merry X-Ray and SourceOne will provide broad access to thousands of premier medical imaging products and services for our customers throughout the United States," said Larry Lawson, president of Merry X-Ray, in a release.

Platinum Equity created SourceOne in 2003 through the acquisition and integration of two large competitors in radiology imaging: the Health Care Products unit of Royal Philips Electronics, and the Diagnostic Imaging unit of PSS World Medical.

SourceOne Healthcare Technologies has been a solidly performing provider of products and services in the industry with annual revenue of more than $1 billion.
