MeVis buys stake in Medis

Cardiovascular imaging software provider Medis Medical Imaging Systems and medical visualization company MeVis Medical Solutions have entered into a strategic alliance in which MeVis has acquired a minority stake in Medis.

The partnership--in which the terms were undisclosed--will expand MeVis' portfolio to include more software products for the detection, diagnosis and intervention of cancers and lung diseases, as well as neurological conditions and could potentially lead to the acquisition of Medis by the MeVis group, according to the companies.
