Michigan funds HIE efforts
The Michigan state government has awarded more than $4.5 million in grant funds to support regional health information exchange initiatives across the state.

The grants came from the Michigan Departments of Community Health and Information Technology following legislative approval of a new program that Gov. Jennifer Granholm (D) called for in her fiscal 2007 budget proposal.

The grant program also is funding creation of the Michigan Health Information Network Resource Center with full-time staff to assist regional health information exchange efforts. More information is available at Michigan.gov/mdch.
