Minn. House advances breast density bill
The Minnesota House of Representatives passed a breast density notification bill this week on a bipartisan vote of 126-7.
Similar to breast density laws passed in other states, the Minnesota bill would require providers to alert patients if they have dense breast tissue and that high density can increase the risk of breast cancer.
If the law is enacted, Minnesota would become the 16th state to pass a breast density notification law. Connecticut passed the first such law in 2009, with Arizona’s law, signed last month, being the most recent.
