New ACC, AJMC online community highlights payment innovations

The American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC) have launched a new online “Community on Payment Innovations,” funded by Johnson & Johnson, with the goal of bringing together a combination of stakeholders to focus on reform debate, encourage innovation and collaboration and share best practices and lessons learned.

This group, led by healthcare economist Len Nichols, PhD, will discuss new payment models to improve the healthcare system by bending the cost curve, with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as the backdrop. The cardiovascular community, physicians, providers, practice administrators, health policy professionals, healthcare economists, federal and state governments, early innovators, payors and other healthcare stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the discussions.
