NYU Downtown Hospital upgrades facility with Eclipsys IT

NYU Downtown Hospital (NYUDH) will deploy Eclipsys Corp.'s advanced financial and surgical management software to improve its operations.

NYUDH will implement Sunrise Access Manager and Patient Financial Manager as part of an organization-wide initiative to enhance financial performance by automating its revenue management process. The advanced financial software is a scheduling, registration and patient accounting system designed to streamline administrative and financial processes while addressing managed care and compliance requirements.

In addition, NYUDH also is deploying Eclipsys' Surgical Management software to automate its surgical department. The Surgical Management information system is designed to manage all the elements required for a surgical procedure, including real-time status communications, scheduling, and patient and equipment tracking.

NYUDH is a 174-bed facility serving the population of Lower Manhattan.
