Philips CEO joins ultrasound foundation's board

The Focused Ultrasound Surgery Foundation (FUSF) has announced the election of Steve Rusckowski to its board of directors.

Before joining the Charlottesville, Va.-based organization, Rusckowski became the executive vice president and CEO of Philips Healthcare in November 2006 and has been a member of the Philips Board of Management since April 2007. He was previously the CEO of the imaging systems business group of Philips Healthcare.

The FUSF advocates for the adoption of focused ultrasound therapy as an alternative to radiation therapy.

The other members of the foundation's board of directors are Dorothy Batten; S. Morry Blumenfeld, PhD; Eugene V. Fife; John Grisham; David Heller; Dan Jordan; Neal F. Kassell, MD; and Kobi Vortman, PhD.
