Philips unveils PCR Eleva family for cassette-based DR

Royal Philips Electronics this week announced the launch of the PCR Eleva family, a new range of single and multi-slot systems for cassette-based digital radiography. As a new step in computed radiography for the company, the PCR Eleva offers technologists a single, compact, and easy to use workspot able to instantly display high quality images, Philips said.

With the new Philips PCR Eleva, images are automatically delivered to the technologist's workspot next to the x-ray room, and are later available on PACS or via hardcopy. This is designed to provide significant time savings for the technologist.

The PCR Eleva's includes an intuitive touch screen user interface with automation options available to minimize manual interaction for routine examinations, allowing technologists to have more time with the patient. 

Initially designed for hospitals, imaging centers and medical practices making the first steps towards digitalization, the Philips PCR Eleva systems are also aimed at facilities looking to replace their cassette readers and updating their radiography departments.

All PCR Eleva systems and Philips direct radiography systems have Philips multi-resolution image processing software UNIQUE (Unified Image Quality Enhancement). UNIQUE provides high-resolution images with all diagnostic information in one single image.

Additionally, the Philips PCR Eleva follows the IHE guidelines for hospital DICOM networks, such as radiology information systems.
